Do you love food? Yup – Me too!
Sometimes though, it seems that I love food just a little too much – well certain foods anyways – like Pizza (Oh… I do love a good freshly oven baked thin crust pizza!)
When we were in Italy this past summer, I indulged in some fresh Italian Pizza – I could have eaten Pizza everyday (well almost everyday), but there were so many other amazing Italian foods waiting to be explored too.
Generally speaking – I tend to stick to the healthier side of things if possible.
Well… except for on cheat days (when anything goes) – or when I’m on holidays and the adventures of new foods seem to be placed around every corner.
Like that Pizza you see in the pic, it was a healthy creation (including eggplant, mushrooms & tomatoes) and incredibly delicious (and not too cheesy either). The wine on the other hand…
But not all healthy choices taste as good as the real deal – do you know what I mean?
Truth be told… I’m a Vegetarian.
Actually I’m a Pescatarian, which is a Semi-Vegetarian who includes fish and other shellfish or seafoods in their diet (but doesn’t eat any other meats).
So as a vegetarian, I’m always on the lookout for healthy new dishes to try.
But you don’t have to be Vegetarian to enjoy vegetarian foods or healthy alternatives.
My husband loves a good steak, ribs done on the barbecue, the traditional holiday turkey and ham, and other meaty treats… but he also enjoys most of the vegetarian delights that I create too (for which I’m very grateful).
I’m not a certified chef & I’m not a certified nutritionist or dietician… but I do love good food, and healthy foods that taste good too – which in turn revealed one of my passions of making healthy foods taste fabulous.
I often have a hard time following directions (not always – but sometimes when I’m cooking especially). I’ll take a perfectly good recipe and tweak it a little – or a lot (you know – make a few modifications and ingredient adjustments) to see if I can make a healthier version. Sometimes it works – and sometimes not so much. But that’s what trial & error is all about – you’ve got to keep testing/creating to see what will taste fabulous.
So I need to add a little Warning…
Any recipes that I may share online (here or socially) have been tested on family & friends and deemed shareable.
So stay tuned – because I’ve been in the kitchen a lot lately, and I might have a vegetarian dish or two to share!
