How Much Is Too Much Time Together In A Relationship?

December 9, 2014 By Lorie Gill

Let me ask you this… How much time is too much time together in a relationship… what would be your idea of too much time to be spending together with your spouse or significant other?

I ask this of you because… My husband George and I do just about everything together: (this pic of us – is from a few years ago – it’s one of my favourites)Lorie-George_Gill

  • We live together
  • We sleep together
  • We eat together (generally breakfast – lunch & dinner every day)
  • We work from home together – but in separate offices (I always like to point that one out, as I’m not sure we could work together otherwise)
  • We work out together – we take walks and bike rides together too
  • We push and motivate each other
  • We take holidays together
  • We go to conferences together (George does attend conferences with out me too)
  • We go on dates together (dinner & a movie – live theatre – etc.)
  • Oh and here’s a new one… We started Podcasting together too (our first episode together is titled Running A Business With Your Spouse (it’s my inaugural episode, I was pretty nervous but it was fun too – you should check it out – we’ve gotten much better since that first episode).
  • It seems… that we do just about everything together

Tis the Season of Giving

December 4, 2014 By Lorie Gill

Tis the season… of Galas & Festivities, get togethers and good food. Oh and don’t forget the giving – there’s lots of giving going on too… Tis the season of giving!

“The habit of giving only enhances the desire to give”
~ Walt Whitman

We’re only 4 days into December and already my husband and I have attended 2 events, back to back I might add (and in the middle of the week too – lol – that’s a rarity for us).

Tis the season right?

I took my own advice – from my last post on “Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff This December… and had it all logged in our Calendars so we were both prepared. [Read more…]

Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff This December…

December 2, 2014 By Lorie Gill

December is here & with the Christmas holiday season fast approaching too… Woo Hoo!!!
Are you excited yet – or are you sensing your stress levels starting to rise – just thinking about the busyness of the month ahead?

PrintDon’t Sweat It… You’ll get thru –
you always do – right?

As the saying goes… “Don’t sweat the small stuff” – truth be told – it’s really all small stuff isn’t it?

I know – I know… it’s not all small stuff to you, especially during this time of year. Kind of crazy really how it gets to be super stressful with so much to do & plan, functions to attend, gifts to buy, meals to prepare (mind you there are always meals to prepare – just some bigger than others… just saying), and the list goes on and on…

Wait… Stop & just breathe for a minute or two – December really doesn’t have to be so exasperating – does it? [Read more…]

Do You Fly by the Seat of Your Pants…

November 28, 2014 By Lorie Gill

What's the plan?Do You Fly by the Seat of Your Pants…  Or do you have a defined written plan of action?

“First comes thought; then organization of that thought, into ideas and plans; then transformation of those plans into reality. The beginning, as you will observe, is in your imagination.”
~ Napoleon Hill

It’s been said that the absence of a well-laid plan often proves to have adverse effects. What do you think about that? [Read more…]

The Blogging Adventure Continues…

November 27, 2014 By Lorie Gill

Wow… It’s hard to believe that a month has come and gone already.And-The-Blogging-Adventure-Continues

Yup – a month ago I decided to finally take the leap – pushed past some fears – and began this crazy blogging thing. So how’s it going… Well let me share my thoughts on that.

As you know based on my first blog post “The Adventure Begins…” sharing of myself online is kinda new (well the blogging format is). Online Social sharing isn’t new but writing personal blogs is new to me.

Has it progressed as I had expected… I’m not clear on that one yet – as it’s only been a month and I didn’t really set any concrete expectations at the onset. Except for the fact that I decided early (2 days in to be precise) to only publish posts during the week and have my weekends free – I can say that I’ve stuck to that. [Read more…]
